Dates for your diaries

Monday 15th January 2018 – Admissions deadline (You must have completed your application by this date)

Should your child successfully gain a place in one of our Reception classes (you will find out this information from the local authority in April) and you have accepted your offered place, we will be holding a number of exciting transition to school events in July. We will send written correspondence to all families with more information regarding the  events detailed below once school places have been offered.

W/C 2nd July 2018 - Transition Week

Current Setting Visits  – Monday 2nd July and Tuesday 3rd July

Our friendly Reception staff will be visiting your children  in their current nursery/pre-school/child-minder settings. This enables the team to meet your children for the very first time in a setting where they feel most comfortable, this also allows us to have important discussions with your child's current key worker.

Parent and Carers Information Meeting  – Wednesday 4h July 2018 at 2pm and 6pm

This is the start to our Transition Programme. We strongly advise that you attend this meeting as this is where you will receive vital information about the curriculum, uniform, times of the school day and arrangements for September. We are running two sessions in order to accommodate working families so please feel very welcome to attend our afternoon or evening session and please expect the meeting to last for approximately one hour. We ask that, where possible, children do not attend this meeting so that we can concentrate on speaking with you and answering your questions. There will be a crèche available, run by our Family Support Team, for those families that are unable to make other arrangements. You will be able to indicate on the reply slips on the booking letter if you will require this service.

Stay & Play and Taster Lunch – Thursday 5th July 2018  at 10am

This is a fantastic opportunity for children to meet our friendly staff and their new friends in our wonderful Early Years setting. We ask that parents accompany children at all times during these sessions to help them feel secure and relaxed in their new environment. Following this play session, at 11.00am there will be the opportunity for families to meet our friendly catering staff and to sample our fantastic school menu during a taster lunch with your child. With the government’s offer of Free School Meals to all Reception children, this could be valuable in helping your child to feel excited about school lunches.

Coffee Morning  – Saturday 14th July 2018  from 10am – 11.30am

Please join us for the last time in the Summer Term for a relaxed coffee morning and play session in the Early Years garden. Drop-in, meet other parents, have an informal chat with staff and ask us any final questions before your child begins with us in September. Find out which Reception class your child will be in and book yourself a home visit - an informal opportunity for the Teacher and Teaching Assistant to visit your child in their most familiar environment and to get to know them. It is also a great time for you to ask any questions or give us any information in confidential surroundings.
