School uniform plays a valuable role in contributing to the ethos of a school and setting an appropriate tone. Most schools in England have a school uniform or dress code. At Hampton Vale, we believe that to have a uniform can instil pride, support positive behaviour and discipline, encourage identity with, and support for, school ethos and ensure pupils of all races and backgrounds feel welcome. It can protect children from social pressures to dress in a particular way, nurture cohesion and promote good relations between different groups of pupils. Above all, we believe that school uniform supports effective teaching and learning through the pride it brings.
Our uniform is a yellow logo’d polo shirt, royal blue logo’d cardigan or jumper and grey trousers for boys; girls can wear grey trousers, skirt or pinafore. In summer, girls can also choose to wear a blue and white checked school dress and boys can wear tailored grey shorts. School shoes must be black, and not trainers. The school P.E. kit is a gold logo’d t-shirt and royal blue shorts; royal blue tracksuits can also be worn in cold weather. Hair below shoulder length should be tied back securely. Socks should be grey or white, and tights grey. All logo’d school items can be purchased from our uniform supplier, Total Promotions. You can also use Tesco’s embroideryservice to get the logo embroidered on plain items.
Please note that the white polo shirts are no longer school uniform and will not be able to be worn by September 2018. You are more than welcome to keep using them until they wear out but when you are buying new polo shirts, please buy the yellow ones.

All your child's uniform needs to be clearly named, including shoes and P.E. and swimming kits. Please regularly check to make sure these labels are still legible and haven’t washed out. All items need to be labelled regardless of type of clothing, size or brand. We have over 600 children and a lot of the same size and brand clothes!
Every Friday from 2.45-3.15pm, starting on Friday 9th February 2018, we will be having weekly sales of second-hand uniform and school items such as coats and bookbags. Items cost 50p each. In the case of very wet weather, the sale will be in the entrance hall.
