“Seedlings has 5* feedback from other parents regarding quality care and education”
“A lovely setting with caring staff”
“It’s very important for me to find a secure place for my child and I know I have thanks to you!”
Seedlings Nursery is an integral part of our Academy. It is a purpose-built setting that has been designed with the well-being and development of our children in mind. Our priority is to deliver high quality learning experiences within a safe and nurturing environment. We do this by planning activities that balance child-led learning with adult-led activities. We have created our own bespoke nursery curriculum that helps to ensure children are encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally. We view supporting all aspects of a child’s development to be of equal importance in helping to ensure that children are ready for the next step in their educational journey. All learning is tailored to meet the needs of our children, and our experienced nursery practitioners ensure that interacting and working with the children in their care is a priority.
We are very excited that over the next few months we will be refurbishing our outdoor garden area, as well as creating an extension to our main nursery room. We are always looking to innovate our provision further and will be able to share these plans very soon.
We are committed to building meaningful and positive relationships with our children and their families. This is an element of our practice that helps to ensure that our children feel safe and secure within our setting. Our nursery practitioners make it a priority to keep parents and carers informed about their child’s learning journey and we use Tapestry, an online learning journal, to allow families to regularly see the activities their child has engaged in. This also allows our nursery practitioners to assess each child’s progress and development in line with the EYFS statutory curriculum outcomes. We offer parent/carer sessions throughout the year which allow families of our children to take an active part in their child’s learning. Story Cafes, as well as Maths Workshops are always very popular and all children love to show their parents/carers what they can do! Seedlings also offer educational learning opportunities in the form of excursions. The children thoroughly enjoyed their visits to Frog Life, as well as Hamerton Zoo.
Our setting is led by the Assistant Headteacher for Phase 1 at Hampton Vale Primary Academy, alongside the Nursery Manager who oversees the day-to-day running of Seedlings. In addition to our Nursery Manager we also have six committed, experienced and friendly nursery practitioners. Whilst children attend Seedlings Nursery they will have a named key worker who will oversee a child’s learning and assessment. This person will also act as a main point of contact for parents/carers, but all our practitioners are available to communicate with about a child’s development before and after each session.
Our Nursery room currently accommodates children aged 2-4. We offer morning, afternoon or all-day sessions. Our fees and times are outlined below. Should you require extra childcare outside of Seedlings opening hours our school’s before and after school club, Goslings, is able to provide this service for a charge.
We currently have a few limited spaces for Autumn 2019, so if you are interested in a place for your child then please contact the school office by phone: 01733 247000 or via email: firstname.lastname@example.org. We thoroughly welcome visits to Seedlings, so please use the above contact details to arrange a tour.
